Chef de Partie and Commis Chef
Excellent rate of pay – up to £24,000 per annum, dependent on skills and experience.
As our Chef de Partie, or Commis Chef, you will be the reason that Hambleton Hall has held a Michelin star for 30 years and the reason our guests keep coming back for more. Our skilled team of chefs work hard to impress our guests, creating unforgettable experiences and exceeding expectations from breakfast right through to dinner. You will be a team player able to deal with the pressure of working in a busy operation and striving for quality and perfection in every single dish.

- We are looking for someone who can: assist the Head Chef during service for timing and progress of all dishes, take ownership and ensure that the presentation, taste, texture and quality are maintained to the standards laid by the Company, take ownership of your own creations, alongside demonstrating passion and pride for all dishes serviced in your section, and be aware of Health & Safety and Food safety standards, ensuring due diligence checks are carried out as required.
Understand that cleaning and hygiene is a must and ensure that your section and the overall kitchen is always spotless and well maintained
Be a strong team player, you will be willing to learn and develop as well as assisting others in their own learning process, sharing your knowledge, passion and pride about the hospitality industry.
As Chef de Partie, we are looking for a minimum of 2 years’ experience of working in a 2 rosette, preferably 3 rosettes, establishment.
You will be working alongside an excellent team who care for and look after each other – it is a 55 hour working week, working 5 days out of 7 on a rota system.

Assistant Accountant
It is exciting times here at the Harts Group, our award-winning team are expanding our business and opening 3 more restaurants, we need a dedicated and proactive Assistant Accountant to join our Finance team, based in the village of Market Overton, in the beautiful county of Rutland.
Harts Group is the London-based restaurant group behind Barrafina, Quo Vadis, El Pastor, Casa El Pastor, Tacoparty and The Drop Wine Bar. Sam and Eddie Hart along with 3 others together founded Barrafina in 2006 and took over Quo Vadis in 2007, they have won many accolades including being named Best Restaurateurs in the GQ Food and Drink Awards 2017 and Restaurateur of the Year – Independent in 2016.

As our Assistant Accountant, you will be responsible for providing our Restaurant teams with high-quality financial information, support and expertise. Working closely with the Finance team, also based in Rutland, your role will be:
- Processing payroll, including pension, for up to 100 members of staff, over various sites (a minimum of 6 months recent experience required)
- Supporting the business with the day-to-day financial activities
- Assisting in Managing our payroll, including pension (auto enrollment)
- Full accounting processes, up to trial balance
- VAT
- Purchase Ledger management
We are looking for as Assistant Accountant who is:
- Diligent and detail orientated
- Self-Motivated
- Able to work to tight deadlines, organised and efficient
- A team player, able to build good working relationships with remote business partners
- Experienced and confident in accounting processes and software, strong Excel skills

Evening Turndown Housekeeping Assistant
Hambleton Hall are expanding their Housekeeping service and have a brand new role for someone to join our team as an Evening Turndown Housekeeping Assistant.
Working with our Housekeeping team you will provide a unique and memorable stay for our guests at Hambleton Hall, a 5-star country house hotel based just outside of Oakham, Rutland.
This job is evenings only, working from 7.00pm until 9.00pm approximately. We are looking for someone who can work a minimum of 3 nights per week, ideally 5 nights would be preferable. It may also include weekend working on a rota alongside your colleagues.
You will be working alongside a Housekeeping Assistant to ensure our bedrooms are tidy, welcoming and ready for our guests to retire, being mindful of their individual needs and requirements and helping them to enjoy their stay with us.
Your duties will be:
- Tidying up of bedrooms and bathrooms
- Replenishing toiletries and consumables
- Closing curtains and turning down the beds
- Clearing away of trays etc.
As our Evening Turndown Housekeeping Assistant you will:
- Possess a strong attention to detail and have pride in your work
- Have experience in customer service, with a warm, friendly and professional outlook
- Be organised and able to work independently and as part of a team
- Be honest, reliable and trustworthy
Hambleton Hall is situated on the Hambleton Peninsula above Rutland Water, it is in a beautiful location but is very rural with no public transport. It is essential you have access to transport to and from the hotel.
This is a part time position and ideally suited to a student wishing to earn additional money, or someone wishing to add to their income.
I am sorry to say that we can only consider students who have completed their secondary education.
You must be eligible to work in the UK.
Hall Porter
We are looking for a Hall Porter who has experience of working in a customer focused business to join our experienced, professional housekeeping team. At Hambleton Hall, we pride ourselves of providing the highest standard of accommodation, customer service and creating wonderful memories for our guests.
As our Hall Porter you will be our ambassador, you will have great customer service skills and be willing to go that extra mile to ensure our guests have the best experience while they stay at Hambleton Hall.
Your main duties will include:
- Assisting guests on their arrival and departure
- Assisting with luggage, delivering and collecting from bedrooms
- Park guests cars, or return them to front of house for departure
- Work with the housekeeping team to ensure the front of house, porch and communal areas is clean and tidy at all times
- Support the housekeeping team with the collection and delivery of linens from the laundry
- Act as a liaison between guests, reception and housekeeping teams
- Support with other tasks which will be discussed at interview
As our Hall Porter you will have the following skills:
- Good customer service skills, articulate with a warm, friendly and professional manner
- Reliable, good time keeping and attendance are essential in this role
- The ability to multi-task and remain calm under pressure
- A good team player, with strong inter-personal skills
- Organised and efficient, with good attention to detail
This is a full-time, permanent position, working 45 hours per week which includes a 1 hour paid break each day. Your hours will be 9.00am – 6.00pm and worked on a rota system, working 5 days out of 7 and will include weekend working.
A uniform is provided along with all meals while you are working. Hambleton Hall has staff accommodation on site which may be available if you should need it – please let us know if you are interested in the accommodation when you apply.
